Nathan Blake

Desert Christian High School

1A-3A Scholar Activity Recipient

Nathan is an excellent and well-rounded student demonstrating superior intellect and broad array of interests. He is well respected by his team mates and served as the Team Capitan during the 2014 Swim season. Not only was Nathan involved in the Swim program at DCHS he was significantly involved in the musical productions the past two years. He is extremely talented in the arts. Nathan has held lead roles in the plays and musicals, participated in the school hand bell ensemble for over four years and has added drum playing with the school worship group.

Nathan is a powerful force in shaping the culture and climate of the Desert Christian campus. He leads in a quiet way but the students respect what he has to say. He is an excellent student and community servant. Nathan is the type of leader that is often involved in campus activities, not in the spotlight, but as the one serving on the side. He is greatly respected and trusted by his peers and teachers. Nathan was chosen as one of the school delegates to Boys State his junior year and attended the HOBY leadership conference over summer.

Nathan plans to attend the University of Arizona Honors College to study Electrical Engineering.

2016 AIA Boys Volleyball Bracket Show
Watch the release of the boys volleyball state tournament brackets on Wednesday, May 4 beginning at 2:30 p.m. on

2016 AIA Track & Field State Meet
The track and field state meet will take place at Mesa Community College on Wednesday, May 4 (D-I, II), Friday, May 6 (D-III, IV), with the championships on Saturday, May 7 for all divisions.  View the results page for the boys and girls for the heat sheets, download the program and visit the tournament info page for the boys and girls for complete details.  You can also watch complete live coverage of the entire state meet at the NFHS Network for as low as $9.95 for a day pass.

2016 AIA State Tennis Tournaments
The team tennis tournaments continue with second round matches on Tuesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 4, semi-final matches on Friday, May 6, and conclude with the state championships on Saturday, May 7.  View the brackets for the boys and girls for the matchups and the tournment info page for the boys and the girls for complete details.

2016 AIA State Baseball and Softball Tournaments
The tournaments continue on Wednesday, May 4 and continue through the championships on Tuesday, May 17.  The softball championships will be held on Monday, May 9 (D-IV and V), Tuesday, May 10 (D-III), and Monday, May 16 (D-I and II).  The baseball championships will be held on Saturday, May 14 (D-III, IV and V), and Tuesday, May 17 (D-I and II).  View the brackets for baseball and softball for the matchups, download the programs, and visit the tournment info page for baseball and softball for complete details.  All championship games in D-III, IV and V can be watched live on the NFHS Network for as low as $9.95 for a day pass.  The D-I and II championship games can be seen on tape delay on Fox Sports Arizona on Thursday, May 19.

2016 AIA State Boys Volleyball Tournaments
The D-I and II state tournaments begin on Saturday, May 7, with games at high seed sites.  The quarterfinals will be played on Tuesday, May 10 at high seed sites.  Semi-finals (Thursday, May 12) will be played at neutral high school sites and the finals (Saturday, May 14), will be played at Mesquite High School.  The finals can watched live on the NFHS Network for as low as $9.95 for a day pass.  View the brackets for the matchups, and visit the tournament info page for complete details.
